Blues Detour
The constellation Blues Detour (Eric Bibb, Ale Möller and Knut Reiersrud) was initiated as a temporary live project in 2010, when Ale Möller was asked to bring together his blues heroes for a unique meeting.
Soon it became apparent that there was a strong musical cheristry between the three of them.
This led to several inspiring discussions about how a blues feeling can take different shapes and forms in different cultures, and how Nordic cultures and traditions colour a musical form that has appeared in another part of the world. After numerous requests a number of tours were put together, and finally, an album was being recorded.
Eric Bibb grew up in a musial family in New Yorkm but today lives in Sweden. He has played a lot in the Nordic countries, as well as internationally, and is open-minded when it comes to harmonies and impulses from all over the world. I world citizen, in the true sense of the word.
Ale Möller lives in Gothenburg, and is a folk and world musician who uses Swedish folk music as a trampolin for his numerous musical journeys.
Knut Reiersrud lives in Norway, and is a Norwegian blues man and world muic pioneer who often does inventive and somewhat excentric interpretations of Norwegian folk music.
Together, they make a Blues Detour, a blues meeting of many dimensions – which is why the title of the debut album felt so obvious.
